Isabelle is an
exceptional, award winning wine taster who doesn’t take herself too seriously.
She’s great fun and loves adventure. In fact, she’s a breath of fresh air in the
all too rarefied world of wine.
But with the
wild, have-a-go spirit comes a classically trained nose and palate. Isabelle is
the first French woman ever to become a Master of Wine and received both the
2009 Villa Maria Award for Viticulture and 2009 Madame Bollinger Award for
Excellence in Tasting at her inauguration into the Institute this year.
She works
regularly with Michelin starred chefs and culinary celebrities, pairing wine to
their food; runs wine tasting courses for the public through the Wine School at
Divertimenti; heads up Wine Lab, a boutique wine tasting company running events
for clients in the City; and presents her own wine show, Journey into Wine, that
broadcasts to 117 countries in 15 different languages.
She has also
made regular appearances on UKTV, Sky One, BBC Breakfast and Newsnight, and
Radio 4. Her enthusiasm and love of wine “with soul” is so infectious that Time
Out features a wine tasting with her as one of their top ‘1000 things to do in
London’!
Isabelle judges
regularly for wine magazines and competitions worldwide, including the Decanter
Awards and the IWC, and she recently became Wine Woman of the Year 2009 in Paris
(a biennial, international competition designed to acknowledge the most talented
woman in the wine trade). |
