Wine
teaching is John’s second career, his first (as
actor and presenter) impinges naturally on his lively and stimulating tastings
and lectures. He is often accused
of being ‘passionate’ about the subject!
John’s
watchword is “Wine without fear”, and although he frequently addresses
seasoned wine tasters he particularly enjoys introducing newcomers to the
fascinating world of wine, when beating a pathway through the ‘jungle’ can
be both instructive and great fun.
No matter
the theme, the end objective in view is greater confidence both in tasting and
in choosing wine, and enhancing the pleasures of the table by matching it
successfully with food. |
| A regular
tutor for The Wine Education Service, John’s wider client base
extends from private winetasting groups
and wine clubs to in-house presentations and wine events for corporate
organisations including The National Trust; Channel 4; IBM; Glaxo
– and even the Home Office.
He is
frequently invited to lecture on wine to captive (nonetheless willing) audiences
on cruise ships!
John is also an enthusiastic domestic cook, and some
years ago won the BBC/Zanussi
competition “A Taste of
Italy” – judged by Antonio Carluccio. |
