Karen Hardwick

The Wine Academy

Karen HardwickWith a career in the drinks trade spanning 20 years, most recently heading up the U.K. team for Robert Mondavi Wines, Karen is the person wine merchants and retailers trust to both educate their staff and advise on ranging, pricing and merchandising. As well as working in the U.K. Karen also teaches French and Chinese winemaking students at the viticulture school in Bordeaux.

With an informal yet informative style Karen can enthuse and educate at the same time.

Clients include Harvey Nichols, Hotel du Vin, E&J Gallo, Asda and Bottle Green among others.

For individuals who may not be in the wine trade and are looking for a more leisurely approach to their wine education, Karen runs several ‘just for fun’ wine courses and events in York, Leeds and Harrogate as well as tailor-made events for individual groups.

As well as running WSET wine and spirit courses, hosting wine dinners, writing and hosting corporate events Karen now runs wine making holidays to Provence.

In her downtime Karen can be found helping out at a local vineyard or helping pull together the drinks programme for the York Food Festival.
