Matthew has worked in the wine trade since 1982 and took diploma
exams in 1985-6. He has acted in a range of roles in buying, marketing and sales
most latterly for Oddbins (1993-2003), Allied Domecq Wine UK and John Harvey and
Sons. He has travelled extensively and has a broad interest in wines from all regions but in particular wines of New Zealand, Spain, Champagne and Sparkling Wines. He has made a name for himself with his "Confessions of a Wine Taster", a two hour set in which he passes on some dark secrets of the wine trade... At home in Epsom he has a brewery, winery and a (quite illegal) distillery. His hobbies are cooking and motorcycling (but not simultaneously). As a break from the humdrum of the wine trade he also has a Pension Trustee's certificate and has acted as a Trustee for two major UK schemes. |
