I am hugely
passionate about wine and am happiest when I have an audience. Since 2002 I have
been presenting, and although I try to keep things informal, I love the
opportunity to debate the benefits or pitfalls of soil types, climates, alcohol
levels, flavours, food matches or frankly anything which fires my vinous
passion.
I lived in
Italy for many years where my wine knowledge blossomed. I still have a home
there and follow several local vineyards and wineries in Campania. I also have
the benefit of my father living just outside Bordeaux. During frequent visits I
have the opportunity to follow weather patterns, vine conditions, helping out in
the vineyard, winery and cellar.
For many years
I worked for British Airways which gave me the invaluable opportunity to tour
the worlds wine regions. I have visited wine regions in Argentina, California,
Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand along with many of Europe's top
wine spots.
I attend seminars and trade
tastings when ever I can, and back this up with as much reading as is possible.
My business, Wine Workshop
of which I am the main presenter, specialises in wine courses, for corporate and
private customers, food and wine matching events and corporate and private wine
tastings. I feel comfortable with most of the wine regions of the world, but if
I had a specialty it would be Italy, and France.
I also consult over several
private cellars.
I am hugely excited and
enthusiastic about English wine, and when I win the lottery I will start my own
vineyard and make world class sparkling wine here on the South Downs! |
