Patricia joined the wine trade in 1992 from a catering background. Her passion for food and cooking stimulated an early interest in wine which she has discovered is today mirrored by many consumers – food and wine are natural companions. Themed food and wine events are a favourite topic, and she brings her infectious enthusiasm and entertaining, humorous style to every occasion.

‘’Let’s get people into wine, and wine into people!’’ is her motto, and helping consumers to find the right wine for them and introducing them to previously unchartered vinous waters is very rewarding. She firmly believes that choosing, buying and appreciating wine should be simple and enjoyable, not an intimidating and stressful chore.

Patricia has a very friendly, accessible and unintimidating presentational style which makes her a very popular speaker with both wine societies and corporate clients. Patricia is also very much involved in training those of us who work in the wine trade, and is committed to improving product knowledge and skills for those concerned with the sale and service of wine. She is wine development consultant to a number of organisations throughout the UK, working with pub/brewery groups, restaurants and bars and multi-site convenience store groups.

Patricia considers herself extremely fortunate to have travelled to many wine producing countries both in Europe and more exotic locations such as North & South America and Australia, where she has enhanced her understanding of the wine industries there. Recent study trips have included Portugal, Cyprus and Jerez. And it is the famous yet greatly undervalued and misunderstood fortified wines of southern Spain that hold the greatest fascination for Patricia. In a modest way she has become a Sherry ambassador, introducing a new generation to these unique wines, and has already worked with two prestigious Sherry producers in this respect.
