Ray O'Connor
 Ray is one of Ireland’s most successful wine exports, currently
living and working in the UK. He’s had wine on the brain since discovering his
passion working in fine restaurants in Dublin and can’t help sharing his
enthusiasm.
People appreciate Ray’s
refreshing approach and his gift of the gab is a non-stop roller coaster on the
joys of wine.
Since arriving in London
in 2006, Ray has worked as Sommelier for Gordon Ramsay and with the Decanter
World Wine Awards. He currently has an influential role in running the
International Wine Challenge.
In 2007 he won the Young
Wine Writer of the Year awarded by the Circle of Wine Writers. He is a regular
contributor to many specialist wine publications, including Harpers
Wine & Spirit, Drinks International and The World’s Best Wine
Guide. He is regularly asked to lend his expertise for panel tastings and
consumer events.
Ray takes the headache
out of buying wines for private collections and special events. He also hosts
tutored tastings in his own relaxed and informative style, de-mystifying wine
for everyone.
