Tom arranges a wide array of tastings and wine events, from
formal to fun, for corporate and private clients, and has lectured to various
societies in the South East. He is an energetic (certainly) and entertaining (he
has been told) public speaker.
He particularly enjoys
running events for wine novices and giving them the skills and knowledge to
explore further. But just as much he enjoys trawling for rare labels and older
vintages for his clients. Food is also a passion and he has held many food and
wine matching events and wine dinners.
He enjoys wine from all over
the world, and is more of an all-rounder than specialist in a certain area. But
Italy and the Rhône are currently to the fore in his wine rack, and he is an
ardent advocate of German wine.
He runs several ongoing fine
wine tasting groups in London, the oldest of which has run for around 5 years.
Tom has worked in and round
the wine trade for over a decade, teaching and leading tastings for much of that
time. He taught wine appreciation at Kensington and Chelsea College for several
years, and has a wide range of experience in teaching (PGCE in Further and Adult
Education) and commercial training outside the world of wine. |
