Valerie has taught wine appreciation courses and workshops at adult education centres in London. She has also run Wine Clubs. Her relaxed and informal style is ideal for beginners and enthusiasts.
For 25 years Valerie was a Marks & Spencer selector and spent ten years in the
wine buying department. In 1998 Valerie left M&S to study for her Wine Diploma and to develop other activities. She received her Diploma in 2001, became a member of the AWE and achieved a City & Guilds teacher training certificate in 2002.
Valerie has written wine articles for in-house newsletters, conducted wine tastings for charity events, lectured on cruises and been a wine judge.
Other interests include travel, especially cruising, theatre,
mah jong and keep fit. Valerie is a member and treasurer of the Memory Lane Singing Club and paints with the Finchley Art Society. She was a magistrate for 25 years.
