Valerie teaches wine appreciation courses at London Colleges including the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. She runs a wine club in Hampstead Garden Suburb. Her relaxed and informal style is ideal for beginners or enthusiasts.

For 25 years Valerie was a Marks & Spencer selector - the last ten years were spent in the wine buying department. In 1998 Valerie left M&S to study for her wine Diploma and to develop other activities. She received her Diploma in 2001, became a member of the Association of Wine Educators and achieved a City & Guilds teacher training certificate in 2002.

Valerie also runs tastings for North London U3A and writes articles for in-house newsletters. She lectures for other wine schools, on cruise ships and for charity events. She is a judge at the International Wine Challenge and the International Wine and Spirit Competition.

Other interests include travel, theatre and keep fit. Valerie is a member of a singing club and is also a magistrate. Her professional skills and interest in wine make her a lively and enthusiastic presenter and tutor.
