Vivienne’s background in food buying for a major retailer, led her to develop an interest in wine. This interest grew into what has now become her passion. Food and wine matching is a favourite topic for Vivienne’s enthusiastic approach to informative tastings for wine clubs, restaurants and hotels as well as events for private and corporate clients.

Vivienne has travelled widely throughout the world's wine regions, and she particularly enjoys sharing her fascination with the lesser-known European wines from Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. Other favourite wine countries include Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Her recent visits to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and California have enabled her to keep on top of new and emerging wine trends in the New World.

Vivienne regularly judges for The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) and The International Wine Challenge (IWC). In addition she is a panel taster for the Decanter Wine Magazine.

Although Vivienne is an occasional freelance writer for www.wine-pages.com, her preferred means of communication is talking to people and teaching them tasting skills and wine appreciation. Together with fellow AWE members Sandy Leckie and Lena Inger, Vivienne teaches for The Wine Education Service, which runs courses and events for wine lovers. She also teaches for the WSET® School and for Leiths School of Food and Wine, and is an Approved Programme Provider for the Wine and Spirit Education Trust.
