Experience

Keith is a very experienced and hugely popular wine tutor and presenter. He was one of the founder members of the Association of Wine Educators.

His style is light-hearted, humorous and sometimes irreverent. He is always in high demand for tutored tastings for wine societies and corporate clients who are often amazed at the amount of information presented so passionately in such an entertaining manner. He regularly presents masterclasses to professionals.  Keith is well qualified in matters of education, including a Masters that involved research into aspects of quality and learning environments in adult education and training.

He is particularly knowledgeable about the wines of Bordeaux, Germany and South Africa. The technical aspects of winemaking are also a forte – he is a winemaker and consultant on wine faults, taints and flaws.

Keith’s latest book is: Wine Faults and Flaws: A Practical Guide | Wiley   This book won the prestigious Prix d’OIV 2022 for the Best Oenology Book.    ‘Wine Production and Quality’ (co-author Hazel Tattersall) won the Gourmand Award for Best Wine Book in the World for Professionals in 25 Years:  Wine Production and Quality, 2nd Edition | Wiley  Other books include ‘Wine Production – Vine to Bottle’ (co-author Hazel Tattersall) and ‘Wine Quality – Tasting and Selection’, which won the Gourmand Award for Best Wine Education Book in the World in 20 Years. He is a contributor, on topics of wine technology, to several other books. Keith travels extensively throughout the old and new worlds and is consultant winemaker at Château St Hilarion in Cyprus and the Santa Winery at Karakoç in Thrace.
