Natasha Hughes MW has nearly 20 years of experience as a professional communicator about wine and food. Her experience runs from journalism (writing for publications such as Decanter, Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine and Square Meal) to event management and public speaking. She also judges at wine competitions around the world, and is a panel chair for the International Wine Challenge and the Sommelier Wine Awards. In addition, she works as a consultant for private clients and restaurants, and has led overseas wine trips for Arblaster & Clarke and for private clients. Natasha is one a very small handful of people who is a member of the Association of Wine Educators, the Circle of Wine Writers and the Guild of Food Writers.
Her teaching experience ranges from small-scale tastings for consumer groups (with themes tailored to their requirements) to conducting seminars for the wine trade on behalf of generic wine boards (including Wine Australia, the Madeira Wine Institute and Sopexa). She also teaches tasting technique to MW students from around the world.
Natasha graduated as a Master of Wine in 2014, winning four out of seven prizes at graduation, including the Austrian Wine Marketing Board’s award for outstanding achievement.
