Having been an enthusiast since being able to drink legally, I took the opportunity to follow all the WSET courses. I am particularly interested in some of the less fashionable and unusual wine producing regions, such as Jura, S West France, and in eastern Europe and Middle East, such as Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Israel, Tunisia, Syria and even Jordan! And in S America, Peru, Bolivia, and Venezuela. The way in which alcohol and in particular wine has influenced our lives and the part it has played in society and history is fascinating, as is the way that the process of making wine has developed.
I currently Tutor the level 4 group for the West of England Wine and Spirit Association, and lecture on their level 1, 2 and 3 courses. In addition I provide tastings to the public both on a regular basis and at special events, and can tailor these to any required level of interest.
In addition, I am now on the “Long Journey” of studying to be a Master of Wine, and have recently been accepted as a Trade Judge a on the IWSC panel.
