I’m delighted  to congratulate one of AWE’s newer members on her recent success. Giusy Andreacchio has  passed the French Wine Scholar certificate from the Wine Scholar Guild with the highest honours. Some of you will already have studied for this certificate and will know that it is a very in-depth course of French Wine and that Giusy’s achievement is no mean feat deserving of recognition and praise.   

In jollier times when we could meet and taste together, many of us enjoyed Giusy’s presentation on Calabria. She is an Italian specialist so it seems very fitting that she should also be awarded the Italian Wine Scholarship. Her learning continues, which is just as well because, as she says, ‘I love studying wine.’ Don’t we all? And we love teaching wine, too, and I am sure Giusy will put her new and updated wine knowledge to good teaching use.
