Pippa’s love affair with wine began when she had to produce a wine list for the restaurant she and her partner were about to open. Not one to take such onerous responsibilities lightly, she tackled the tasks of selection, tasting, research and writing
with her customary energy. Her aim was to create an unstuffy, readable list designed to make it easy for customers to choose and encourage them to venture into unknown vinous territory. The list, coupled with her easy manner with customers,
eventually earned her a bottle symbol in The Good Food Guide.
It was the beginning of a career in wine education which she now pursues full time as a regular tutor for The Wine Education Service for whom she teaches Introductory and
Intermediate level courses, one day workshops and the occasional tasting.
She presents a series of Wine Dinners in Cheltenham, now in its third year and is a regular guest presenter at Cheltenham Food and Wine Festival. She creates bespoke
tastings for private clients and local wine groups in London and beyond.
She loves sharing her passion and enthusiasm for wine in an accessible, down–to–earth way by giving her students a clear, jargon -free understanding of what has
influenced the taste of the wine in their glass.
Pippa particularly enjoys putting together bespoke tastings for special occasions, organising the odd wine quiz and loves any opportunity to sing Sherry’s praises.
As the partner of a great professional chef and in her old role as Sommelier she has extensive experience of pairing food and wine.
