With a long back ground in hospitality and a passion for wine and wine education, Lorraine teaches WSET courses for catering colleges and hotel groups to advance level as well as wine appreciation courses for enthusiastic amateurs, may of whom often go on to complete their WSET courses.
Lorraine focuses her consumer presentations on tasting technique and particularly enjoys presenting unusual wines from lesser know areas. She is a knowledgeable and well researched presenter and has presented tasting technique workshops at the Birmingham Food and Restaurant Show.
Lorraine has worked in wine retail and for private wine clubs and has had her own restaurant business where the promotion of wine events were important. Lorraine has acted as consultant for several restaurants in the compilation of their wine lists. She has also conducted wine with food workshops for restaurants.
Lorraine is widely travelled in the major wine ares of Europe and the New World. She is involved with a thriving wine society in Yorkshire with over 500 members, the Yorkshire Guild of Sommeliers and serves on the Management Committee.
